It Girl: Lupita Nyong’o

Move over Jennifer Lawrence. Hollywood definitely has its new “It Girl” and the public feedback is pure frenzy! Recently, this rising star has been spotted in the front rows of several runway shows and has been recently announced as the new face of Lancôme. She is also featured in Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 campaign alongside other darlings like Elisabeth Olsen, Elle Fanning, and Bella Heathcote. This is merely just a glimmer of the accolades received by the lovely Academy Award winner who was also declared number one on People magazine’s “Most Beautiful” list and, quite frankly, we could not agree more. The stunning Yale Graduate has displayed remarkable talent by securing her break out role in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave so quickly after graduating in 2012, let alone nabbing an Academy Award nomination and win on what many consider her very first “serious” role.

Apart from her angelic presence she is also a style icon who has become a sincere favorite among many designers. Time and time again she has proven (and continues to do so!) that she is always red carpet ready with her wide array of color choices. Take a look below to see some of her best fashion features and be sure to let us know what you think!

Who could forget her Academy Award’s Prada gown? A vision in blue, she remained unrivaled that night as she became one of Hollywood’s hottest stars.

Clearly unafraid of bold colors, here she is at the Hollywood Film Awards in a citrusy J. Mendel.

  1. Very great post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to mention that I’ve
truly enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. After all I’ll be subscribing in your feed and I hope you write once more very soon!

  2. First off I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.

I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure out how
to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thank you!

    1. Thank you! Writer’s block happens to everyone. But always ask yourself your intention for what it is you are writing. Simply put, WHY are you writing? Why are you thinking about writing something? What do you want your readers to get out of that expression?

Just a few basics to get you going!
