The Fendi Baguette was not made overnight. It was a bag born of a Roman matriarch, and three generation of women devoted to style. Silvia Venturini Fendi is the latest of the line, she had an opulent and eccentric heritage to draw on. Edoardo and Adele Fendi opened a leather and fur workshop on the Via del Plebiscito in Rome in 1925. Seventies and 80’s Fendi bags dripped with slick caramel and chocolate strips colors, but the 90’s it was time for change. Prada was their competition and by then prada started grooving up their bags and logo. Silvia Venturini Fendi start making her bags with outrageous furs and beautiful clothes. She was influence by eastern textiles, eccentric ornament, and neo-70s hippic chic. Fendi gain richer colors and wilder fabrics.
